Then virtual classes are for you. Virtual classes are held as a live classroom, using Zoom, with a mixture of demonstrations, discussions, and coaching. Classes are kept small to ensure individualized attention for each student and their dog.

“We contacted Vanessa shortly after we adopted our dog, Bodhi. As Bodhi adapted to his new home and as we got to know him better, we noticed that he started showing some signs of reactivity towards a lot of different things – other dogs, cars, wildlife, and some people. Bodhi’s reactivity was quite stressful for both him and us! It was important to us that we train Bodhi using force-free, positive reinforcement methods and Vanessa came recommended by our veterinarian and others in the community. Vanessa suggested that we sign up for Reactive Rover group training, as a start, to learn some techniques to help manage Bodhi’s reactivity. At first, we were apprehensive of the online/video format of the course; however, after meeting Vanessa and the rest of the members of the class, we became more confident in the format and in Vanessa’s ability to coach us through the exercises. Shortly after the Reactive Rover training, we signed up for private training. Working one-on-one with Vanessa, we learned how to teach Bodhi replacement behaviours for his reactivity and how to help him calm down if he does go over threshold. It also allowed us to better read Bodhi and cue into his thresholds and triggers. We are glad to say that we had a wonderful experience with Vanessa during our training. We greatly appreciated her knowledge, experience, and that she always puts your pup’s needs first. Our reactivity training journey will take time; however, Bodhi has shown a lot of improvement and we now know the techniques required to continue to work with him. If we need help in the future, we would not hesitate to contact Vanessa again.
